Biography

Picture
For several years Patricia has been counseling people struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD and women's issues as well as offering family, couples and pre-marital counseling sessions. Patricia is no stranger to the hardships of life as she herself as persevered through multiple home fires, a home invasion and the deaths of close friends and family. These experiences give Patricia an uncanny ability to understand and empathize with those she counsels as her guided therapy helps her clients move from fear to freedom, from suffering to joy, and to experience positive change in their lives.

Patricia is Level II trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Level II in Brainspotting, and in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). Patricia received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca University in Nashville, Tennessee and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her BS in Food & Nutrition from Michigan State University. Although she works with a wide spectrum of clients, Patricia has a special interest in helping those with eating disorders and working with people struggling through marriage or in abusive or traumatic relationships.

Patricia has worked as an eating disorder liaison at an inpatient facility specializing in Eating Disorders and Alcohol & Drug Addiction. She was a primary counselor for an intensive outpatient facility specializing in Alcohol & Drug Addiction and a primary counselor for an inpatient facility specializing in Binge Eating. Patricia's therapy model combines traditional methods and also draws from externships, trainings and personal life experiences. She combines these several avenues to create a place of open possibilities for the client.

Before moving to Nashville, Patricia had worked for Nestle for twelve years developing new frozen food dishes for Stouffers and Lean Cuisine. Prior to her master’s degree, she owned a successful restaurant and an advertising companies.

Patricia has twice served on the board of the local Nashville Area Association of Christian Counselors.
